Why I Am Switching to a DE Razor | My First-Time Experience Shaving with a Double Edge Razor

I thought the DE razor a thing of the past – and I was so wrong. I did a Proraso Saving Cream review on my channel a few days and one viewer suggested trying a DE Merkur 34C. This got me interested in trying safety razors and a lot has happened since then.

I researched numerous articles, watched hundreds of videos, and I was convinced that it is time to switch back to the way Grandpa used to shave.

Ridiculously overpriced disposable razors are a waste – both for the earth and for the wallet. Big razor companies try hard to make the old-style safety razors dangerous, so consumers are afraid to try them and keep buying from the big companies.

What I found out is that there is a huge community for safety razors and there are countless manufacturers still making these double-edge blades and razors. It even looks like the numbers of people switching to safely razors are growing bigger and stronger. 

My first safety razor shaving experience was a lot better than I was expecting. I was expecting lots of nicks and cuts, but nothing like that happened. I even enjoyed trying DE razor shaving as it was something new and challenging.

You cannot rush into shaving with a safety razor. You need to take your time and enjoy the moment – and I find it invigorating.
