What’s The Cheapest Planner on Amazon You can Buy?

I just did a review of the popular Moleskine 12 Month Weekly Planner 2022 last week and since then Ive been thinking of what the cheapest planner you can possibly buy on Amazon is.

After searching through Amazon, I came across a brand I’d never heard of called Eteamcan. They offer a Classic 12 Month pocket planner that is small and easy to carry. So, I wanted to try and see whether buying this would be a waste of money or would work just fine.

Eteamcan’s small (4.2" X 3"), lightweight weekly planner is good for everyday use and even when you are travelling. According to the manufacturer, the paper is high-quality, smooth Daolin Paper and the front and back cover are made of black fabric mixed material.

I was expecting a poor-quality notebook, but I have to say that this cheap notebook is not bad at all and exceeded my expectations. Each page has 4 days on one side and 3 days on the other side. There is a lot of information provided in the beginning of the notebook, such as time zones, holidays, necessary metric charts, a calorie chart, a clothing size chart, etc., but the problem is they are so small that it is hard to read. I brought them close to my eyes and couldn’t figure out what’s there.

The paper quality is acceptable and the ink didn’t bleed through when I wrote with my pen. Overall, I would say it’s not a waste of $10 and good enough for everyday uses as a pocket notebook.

Soundcore 3 by Anker | Best Portable Bluetooth Speaker

Best Portable Mid-Priced Bluetooth Speaker | Anker Soundcore 3

I was looking for a Bluetooth soundbar that is small enough to sit on my small desk, durable, and good looking. After looking at a bunch of them, Soundcore 3 by Anker seemed to fit my criteria.

Priced at somewhere between $75 to $90 at online retailers, Soundcore 3 is not cheap or too expensive. So, I grabbed one.

I was surprised to see the quality and how good looking this tiny speaker is. When I turned it on, I was even more surprised at its sound quality.

There is also a Soundcore app to customize bass, treble, and midrange to enhance your listening experience. If you don't want to bother with that, you can choose Soundcore's own presets, such as Soundcore signature, Voice, Treble Boost, and Balanced.

Its IPX7 rating means it is completely waterproof and can even be submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. The X in the rating means it hasn't been tested for solid objects, but I saw videos online where the Soundcore 3 took mud and sand abuse and still functioned properly.

I mainly use my Soundcore 3 to listen to podcasts, online radio, and streaming music services. It definitely makes a difference having the sound come from a good speaker, rather than a phone.

Its battery life seems to be a lot better than I expected and I only charge it once every 2 weeks with 2-3 hours of use daily.

Zhiyun Smooth 5 Smartphone Gimbal – First Impression Highlights

My previous AOCHUAN smartphone gimbal broke into pieces after only 8 months. I did some research before buying a new gimbal and the Zhiyun Smooth 5 Smartphone Gimbal seems to be the best gimbal on the market now, at least for what matters to me.

Today, I will share my initial thoughts after using the Zhiyun Smooth 5 for 2 weeks.

- I don’t like the fact that Zhiyun is forcing us to install the app to activate the Gimbal. I think Zhiyun is doing this to rack up downloads on Google and the Apple pay store.

- Half of the buttons on the Zhiyun Smooth 5 won’t work if you don’t use their app. This is another sneaky business model to force people to use their app.

- The Zhiyun Smooth 5 is well made and feels sturdy. The material and craftmanship don’t feel cheap and are of high quality.

- The stabilization quality is very good. I tested the Zhiyun Smooth 5 in 50 to 70 km/h wind and -20°C temperature without issues. One time, the strong wind flipped my phone from the gimbal, but it happened only once and the wind at that time had hit 70 km/h.

- Various modes (like all follow, lock, vortex, etc.) can be controlled by pressing the mode button on the gimbal, but the problem is that the mode indicator lights are so small that they are very difficult to see outdoors.

- Surprisingly, the Zhiyun Smooth 5 works perfectly with the GoPro 10 action camera, although Zhiyun doesn’t mention this anywhere. I have a full video on this.

Amazon Basics 500-Watt Ceramic Small Space Personal Mini Heater

I was looking for a way to cut electricity costs by reducing running my central heater. At night when it’s time to sleep, a small space room heater in the bedroom should be good enough to keep warm without running the full heater in the unit.

I was searching for the best portable small space heater for winter and found the Amazon Basics 500-Watt Ceramic Small Space heater.

It’s a basic heater with just an on and off switch. There is no thermostat, so it will keep running continuously as long as you do not shut it off. It’s only 6.3" (16 cm) in size, draws 500W electricity, and it works fairly well for its $26 CAD cheap price.

I was able to run only this small heater in my bedroom (turning off central heating) and had no issues being cold at night while sleeping. It kept running all night to keep me warm.

It has its noise, as it runs continuously, but it’s tolerable and doesn’t interfere with sleep or feel too noisy. I was surprised at the amount of heat it generates, being so small and portable.

Overall, I am happy with the product. If I had to, I could complain about it not having a thermostat and timer switch, but those would increase the cost as well.

What I like about a packable backpack is that you can put them in your carry-on bag without taking up much space and once you arrive at the destination you can unfold it to use as a day pack. That doesn’t mean you have to travel to use it – you can also use it daily as a low-profile backpack that won’t weigh you down like a regular backpack.

The Eddie Bauer 25L Pack is lightweight (11 oz) and folds down into its own pocket, measuring only 17"H x 12"W x 6"D or 8" x 8" x 2.5" when stowed. I like that its side pockets (for water bottles or other accessories) are made of fabric, not mesh.

In the front, you will find one front pocket with a key ring attachment and one zip mesh pocket. The main compartment is surprisingly spacious. There even is another sleeve inside that can be used for a laptop or anything else.

The pocket the bag folds into is also a usable pocket on top of the bag with 2 hooks. You can attach a carabiner here as well.

This pack is made of durable, 200-denier ripstop fabric with water repellant coating. The shoulder straps are lightly padded.

Although it can hold a lot of stuff, the downside of the Eddie Bauer Stowaway Packable 25L Packable Backpack is that it might get uncomfortable and slips off your shoulder if you pack too much or put heavy stuff in it.

For light items, it should be good enough and I will use this especially when I travel as my daypack or a secondary bag. I find it hard to complain about this bag due to its price. Although the price tag says $50 CAD, Eddie Bauer usually has it on sale for 50% off.
