How to Buy Qatar Airways Super Wi-Fi | Does Qatar Airways Offer Free Wi-Fi?

What Is Qatar Airways Super Wi-Fi?

For my upcoming flight to Asia on Qatar Airways, I was searching for its Wi-Fi information and this is what I gathered. Qatar Airways is one of the best airlines in the world and they provide Wi-Fi that is unparalleled by any other airlines.

Qatar Airways recently announced a new type of Wi-Fi, called Super Wi-Fi which is expected to be 10 times faster than standard Wi-Fi. Super Wi-Fi uses GX satellites to provide in-flight, high-speed Internet.

All Qatar Airways Boeing B777 and Airbus A350 fleets currently have Super Wi-Fi available. You can check the link below to find if your flight or what other flights have Super Wi-Fi available.

Qatar Airways Super Wi-Fi

What’s striking is that the cost at which Qatar Airways is providing Super Wi-Fi. I was expecting Qatar Airways to charge a lot for this better version of in-flight Wi-Fi. However, as of this writing, Super Wi-Fi is only $10 US for the entire flight and it is unlimited. There is even a 20% discount and you can pay only $8 US when pre-purchasing during check-in online through the Manage My Booking portal.

I find the Super Wi-Fi unreal and it provides a lot of value. I will definitely try Super Wi-Fi and will share my Qatar Airways Super Wi-Fi experience when I fly in August 2022.

I have posted a video about Qatar Airways providing Super Wi-Fi and will keep you updated and post more videos on this playlist.

Ahmed Dawn YouTube Banner Refresh | Ahmed Dawn Website Banner Refresh

Ahmed Dawn Dot Come Banner & YouTube Banner Redesign

Not exactly sure when I had my last banner designed, but it’s been a few years and it’s time to refresh. My current banner was nice and visually pleasing, but I wanted to have something similar, but better.

I put up a work order on a freelancer site and within less than an hour I received 50 designers interested in work. It was difficult to pick, so it took me some time. But after sorting through all the responses, I decided to hire two designers for different perspectives.

I mentioned that I want a banner similar to my current one with different elements and designing. The 1st designer seemed to get it and sent me a beautiful new banner that I liked right away. However, the 2nd designer kept sending me something totally different and I had difficulty explaining what I wanted to him.

After some corrections and communicating back and forth, I decided on the 1st designer’s banner. The 2nd designer failed to come up with anything I liked, so I sent him what the 1st designer did and asked him to change the background picture only. The reason I chose two designers was because I knew one of them would not be up to what I was looking for.

Finally, after copying the 1st designer, the 2nd designer was able to come up with something I like, although he kept making mistakes and I had to correct him many times.

I am posting both designs here, so you can see what they look like. I will be using both designs and will change them back and forth.

I have no plan to change the banner any time soon, but who knows? Maybe after 3 or 4 years I might want something different – we will see.

DE Shaving Accessory – Shaving Bowl (Vacuum Insulated)

Best Shaving Soap Bowl for Your Wet Shaving

Recently, I switched to a double edge safety razor from a disposable razor. Unlike a disposable razor, shaving with a safety razor required patience and lots of lather. Putting on shave foam from a tin can doesn’t work that well, as the lather is not thick.

I tried putting shave cream on my bristles but looked like a shaving bowl could make creating the foamy lather process much easier. So, I started looking for shave bowls online.

There are so many options at many different price ranges that I was genuinely surprised. After going through probably a hundred of them on Amazon, I decided on a stainless steel one that was vacuum insulated for heat retention.

However, I couldn’t make the lather heavy thick like I had seen on some videos on YouTube. This could have been due to my brush not being good enough, my new skills not being good enough to make a thick lather, or my stainless-steel bowl may not have been a good one.

I have some nice-looking shave bowls made of wood and I’ve been thinking of trying one of them. Because I review all these products on YouTube, buying more than one is not a waste for me.

To expedite publishing my DE shaving experience, I have bought 7 or 8 different types of razors and I’m reviewing them one by one. There are lots of people looking for safety razor shaving, and this is a new audience segment for me to target.

As I learn more and gain experience with safety razor shaving, I will provide more tips and review videos for viewers across the globe joining the safety razor club.

How to Shave with a Safety Razor | First Time Shave with a DE Blade

Why I Am Switching to a DE Razor | My First-Time Experience Shaving with a Double Edge Razor

I thought the DE razor a thing of the past – and I was so wrong. I did a Proraso Saving Cream review on my channel a few days and one viewer suggested trying a DE Merkur 34C. This got me interested in trying safety razors and a lot has happened since then.

I researched numerous articles, watched hundreds of videos, and I was convinced that it is time to switch back to the way Grandpa used to shave.

Ridiculously overpriced disposable razors are a waste – both for the earth and for the wallet. Big razor companies try hard to make the old-style safety razors dangerous, so consumers are afraid to try them and keep buying from the big companies.

What I found out is that there is a huge community for safety razors and there are countless manufacturers still making these double-edge blades and razors. It even looks like the numbers of people switching to safely razors are growing bigger and stronger.

My first safety razor shaving experience was a lot better than I was expecting. I was expecting lots of nicks and cuts, but nothing like that happened. I even enjoyed trying DE razor shaving as it was something new and challenging.

You cannot rush into shaving with a safety razor. You need to take your time and enjoy the moment – and I find it invigorating.

I am documenting my safety razor shaving experience on my YouTube channel. I am also reviewing lots of related products you will require to make your shaving experience smooth and exciting.

How To Get To Toronto Islands | How Long Is Ferry Ride to Toronto Island?

How to go to the Toronto Islands

What You Need To Know About the Toronto Islands

The Toronto Islands, also known as The Island, is a group of 15 interconnected islands located in the heart of downtown Toronto. The Toronto Islands offer a little piece of paradise, away from the big city’s hustle and bustle, just minutes away from the downtown waterfront.

The island is 5 kilometres long and you can easily walk from one end to the other. The 3 most popular islands are Centre Island, Ward Island, and Hanlan’s Point.

On the Islands, you’ll find sandy swimming beaches (including a Clothing Optional Beach on Hanlan's Point), bike, canoe and kayak rentals, a boating marina, sports facilities, big grass fields for picnics, a theatre, nature trails, an EMS and fire station, an amusement park and a 150-year-old community of 600 people living in cottage-like homes.

How Long Is the Ferry Ride to the Toronto Islands?

The average ferry or taxi ride takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

How much does it cost to go to the Toronto Islands?

An adult round-trip ticket costs $8.70. A one-way taxi ride costs $12, but you don’t have to pay when coming back to the city taking the ferry (even if you took a taxi to the island) because it’s provided for free and no tickets are needed to ride back from the island to the city.

Pro Tip: Buy Ferry tickets online. It’s much faster and easier.

Visit the City of Toronto Ferry Tickets Online Link for more info.

How to Take the Ferry to the Toronto Islands

The ferries to the Toronto Islands depart from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal. This is the ferry terminal located on Queen’s Quay between Yonge and Bay streets, right next to the Westin Harbour Castle hotel.

All three ferry routes to Centre Island, Ward Island, and Hanlan's Point depart from the same terminal next to each other. All three ferry schedules run on an hourly basis. Centre Island and Ward’s Island boats depart Toronto on the hour and Hanlan’s Point ferries depart on the half hour.

Visit the link City of Toronto All Ferry Schedules Link for more info.

How to Take TTC to the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal

You can take a short walk from Union Station or take the 510 Spadina streetcar or 509 Harbourfront streetcar to the Queens Quay stop and walk in 1 to 2 minutes.

How to Take a Water Taxi to the Toronto Islands

Several water taxi services depart from downtown Toronto to go to the Toronto Islands, such as Centre Island, Ward Island, and Hanlan's Point. The taxis have no fixed schedule and they leave once there are enough people to make the trip profitable. I had trips when there were only 4 passengers on board.

There are many Water Taxi services to choose from. Some popular ones and I tried are Tiki Taxi, Pirate Taxi, Toronto Harbour Tours, and Toronto Harbour Water Taxi.

For Water Taxi locations, visit their websites. Harbourfront Centre also has a map of water taxi locations.

Is It Better to Take a Taxi or a Ferry to the Toronto Islands?

Taking a ferry or a taxi to the Toronto Islands costs about the same (only $1.30 difference). I have tried both many times and here is my pro tip.

Toronto Island ferries give you a different experience than taking taxis. I feel like I am taking a ship and enjoy the experience of being in a bigger space with more people. But during the weekends or holidays, ferries can get crowded and you may want to avoid that.

Water Taxis offer faster service with no waiting or maintaining a schedule. A Water Taxi is like taking an Uber and taking a ferry is like taking the subway; both are excellent and offer different levels of experience.

Which Toronto Island is The Best to Visit (Centre Island, Ward Island, and Hanlan's Point)?

Centre Island

Centre Island offers the most activities and this is where most people go. It’s got Centreville, an amusement park, a beautiful lookout point and more places to eat than the others. On the other hand, Centre Island is also the most crowded.

Centre Island covers 600 acres of parkland and is in between two other primary Toronto Island destinations - Ward's Island on the east and Hanlan's Point on the west.

Ward's Island

Ward’s Island is on the east side where you will find some residences and also has a nice cafe, playground, soccer field, beaches and more. The beach here is less crowded. There are also nice paths and a boardwalk to stroll on.

In my opinion, Ward’s Island offers the best view of Toronto City and the skyline. I also enjoy the solitude of being less crowded.

Hanlan's Point

Hanlan's Point is right next to the Billy Bishop Airport and you can literally view the parked planes and runway. There is also the Gibraltar lighthouse and the only clothing-optional beach in Toronto.

The clothing-optional beach is separated from the regular beach and they are next to each other. In my opinion, Hanlan's Point beach is the longest and offers the best views overlooking Downtown Toronto and the Mimico skyline.

Pro Tip: Hanlan's Point is the best place to watch the Toronto Canadian International Air Show.

In brief, if you are looking for more activities and places to eat, go to Centre Island. If you are looking for solitude and relaxation, including better beach experiences, go to the Ward Island and Hanlan's Point.
