Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort – Room Switch & Day 2 Experience
/Sheraton Maldives Day 2 - Breakfast at Feast, Kakuni Beach Tour, and Overwater Pool Villa
After our first day in the over-water bungalow, we started our second day at the Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort by heading to the Feast for breakfast. One thing we appreciated about this resort is how the restaurants are clustered together, making it easy to move between them.
Breakfast at the Feast is extensive, offering everything from pancakes, French toast, Danish pastries, and muffins to Asian options like congee, miso soup, vegetable noodles, fried rice, and a full egg station.
There were also smoked salmon, poached eggs, chapati, Maldivian tuna dishes, salads, fresh fruits, and a detox juice station. With so many choices, it was genuinely difficult to decide what to eat.
After breakfast, we prepared to check out of our first overwater bungalow — the non‑pool unit — and move to the upgraded villa with a private plunge pool. The resort arranged a buggy to take us to the lobby, where we completed the check‑out and waited in the Relax room where there were comfortable seats, snacks, and coffee, making the transition smooth while the new room was being prepared.
Before moving to the new villa, we explored Kakuni Beach, a quiet stretch of sand with swings, a bar, and beach loungers. The area is peaceful but hot due to the white sand reflecting the sunlight. Prices at the beach bar were high, with a burger costing USD 41 and coffee USD 9 — typical of high‑end Maldivian resorts.
Later, we had lunch at Masala Hut, the resort’s Indian restaurant. Portions were extremely generous, from chicken tikka appetizers to large servings of lamb biryani and butter chicken. Dessert included gulab jamun and a fruit platter.
Finally, we checked into our new overwater villa with a plunge pool — a noticeably larger, more luxurious unit with better views and more space. This upgrade made Day 2 feel special and added a memorable highlight to our stay. You can watch our overwater villa with a plunge pool video here.
